The Central California Traction Company

By Shawn Branstetter

Growing up in Northern California, I fondly remember watching the CCT most of my childhood. I have always had a fascination for this railroad which is why I was so excited to hear that Signature Press was releasing a book documenting the history of this wonderful shortline.

Written by David Stanley and Jeffrey Moreau the nearly 400 page book details the railroad from it's beginning as a trolley line carrying passengers between Stockton and Sacramento, California to present day freight operations.

There are many detailed maps as well as a drawings of traction equipment. The images, both black and white and color are of excellent quality.  I really enjoy the books I have from Signature Press and this one is at the top of my list of favorites.
