Advanced Techniques for Realistic Scenery

By Shawn Branstetter

For those of you not familiar with Paul Scoles, he has been writing articles for magazines such as Model Railroader and the Narrow Gauge and Shotline Gazette for many years now. Paul has released a DVD series for beginner and advanced modelers; Advanced Techniques for Realistic Scenery, Realistic Scenery Volume Two and finally, Running Trains.

I have the scenery videos and I must say they are excellent for the beginner. Paul takes you step-by-step though his scenery building process from plaster to finishing details. As an added bonus, you will follow Paul out into the field where he collects his building material and shows you what to look for and how to look for it. I will tell you that Paul is from the Pacific Northwest but his techniques will work for anyone.

I have always been impressed with his tree making skills and Paul takes you though the process in great detail on how he makes evergreen and deciduous trees. He always makes it look easy, his explanation is very simple and with no time at all you will be creating scenery as good as the masters.

Stop buy Paul Scoles web site and you can purchase any or all of the videos online.
