Colby Smith has taken on the roll of Marketing Manager and will also help with design and well … writing newsletters (now we only have to tell him that). This is a perfect fit since he is the owner of an advertising and marketing agency.
We have some great articles and projects in the works. The North West Short Line and Shortline Modelers Lounge Critter Contest is into its second month and lots of prizes are up for grabs!
Shawn Branstetter is currently writing a series of articles on building a small 2’ x 8’ On30 layout that he hopes to begin in the next week or two. This will be a lot of fun and will be great for beginners. This series will not be for the ready-to-run crowd. Its focus will be on details and hand-laying track.
Finally, we are in the process of putting together a "Members" section on the website. The goal is to create a way to meet and talk with fellow modelers. Additionally, you will be able to see a list of their recent articles or forum posts so you can follow that builder’s projects.
As you can see, we have a full line of projects this year. That said, we are looking to expand our workforce at Shortline Modelers Lounge. Who are we looking for you might ask?
This person will work with the marketing and design team as we begin planning the site expansions. This is going to be a huge role over the next year as we expand and fine-tune what we currently have in place. If you know your way around Drupal, we can use you!
As mentioned, Colby is moving into another seat and we will need a managing editor. If you are an accomplished writer and would like to help in growing the site, we would love to talk with you.

Shortline Modelers Lounge has made it its mission to seek out talented model builders of all scales and all locations who have a passion for model railroading and railroading history. So what type of articles are we looking for?
These are just some of the articles we are looking for.
We are wanting to add 2 to 3 regular writers to join our talented team. Our regular writers usually focus on, but are not limited to, a single theme such as scratchbuilding, scenery or whatever they enjoy writing about. We are looking for individuals who can write on a weekly basis (or when they can find time). If you would like more information, email us at shortlinemodelers@gmail.com.
So whether you are an experienced model railroader or you are just beginning we would like to see your work. You may Click Here To Read More > about writing for Shortline Modelers Lounge.
We are always looking to improve the web site. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know. shortlinemodelers@gmail.com
